Position: Transition Specialist

Reports To: Director of Federal Programs

Salary Schedule/Grade: Refer to Administrator Salary Schedule for Coordinator

SUMMARY

 

Under the general supervision of the Direct of Federal Programs, the Transition Specialist will work under the direction of the Director of Federal Programs to ensure the educational stability of vulnerable students.  The Transition Specialist will facilitate and monitor the transition of DPS vulnerable students from vulnerable student populations (foster care youth, group home youth, and/or juvenile justice-involved youth) to the respective schools.  The transition facilitating and monitoring may include contact with students, parents/guardians, court officers, children services, school staff, and other support services.
